I tweaked the beginning of the article... The Eye of Providence (or the All-Seeing Eye of God) is a symbol that depicts an eye, often enclosed in a triangle and surrounded by rays of light or glory, meant to represent divine providence and the Sun, whereby the eye of God watches over humanity. The latin words ANNUT COEPTIS NOVUS ORDO SECLORUM translate from latin to "He has favoured our undertakings, a new order of the ages".

Is it worth stating in the article that numerous conspiracy theories have linked the eye of providence to the Illuminati? In particular the supposed connection of the Founding Fathers to the Illuminati? Hemlockian (talk) 10:17, 25 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The problem is that there are no reliable sources that discuss such a link.
The reality is that the Illuminati didn’t use the eye as a symbol, but for some reason pop culture has got it into its collective mind that they did. Probably because of the association with freemasonry. Blueboar (talk) 13:24, 25 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
