Doesn't make sense

[edit]

The following is an extract from the opening paragraph "His cross over success in the U.S. has given him more exposure to English speaking Reggaetón fans, making him one of the more recognizable faces of Reggaeton along with and Don Omar's popularity is currently rising and he recently appeared on MTV." (along with and Don Omar's)-does this make sense to anyone? I supect it should say something like "along with Daddy Yankee and Tego Calderon. Don Omar's" someone must of deleted it I suspect, so could someone revert it back to when it made sense please!? I would myself but I just don't have the patients. History

[edit]

Don Omar is not a dominican but ...... anyone know more about Don Omar's life, before he became a singer/composer and got his fame. I think if more was added about that the History category could be split and would be History and Musical Career. That way that part of the page is more organized.--BaRiMzI 16:59, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

does anyone know the beef orginisn of daddy yankee and don omar!! coud thye be included

Place of birth?

[edit]

I get conflicting information depending on the source... What he born in Carolina, Puerto Rico or in Villa Palmeras [1]? --Asteriontalk 23:29, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well we definitely know he's from Puerto Rico. I guess since no link says exactly where he's from maybe Carolina should be removed and just left as Puerto Rico. I see that msn link you posted. I would normally say to replace carolina with Villa Palmeras but msn has proved, at least to me, to be unreliable. Most spanish music is "latin" regardless of what it really is. I don't know, if you trust msn go for it.--_ BaRiMzI _ 23:37, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Daddy Yankee

Does anyone know the origin of the feud between dy and don omar

Singles...?

[edit]

OK, we have decent Discography and Chart history sections, but, would someone mind to research/post all singles released by Don Omar and the respective albums they are from?

There are several ways you could integrate this information on the article. For instance, you could add a new header on the Chart history Singles table, where it says "Album"; and fill in the albums all of the singles are from (and, in the process, take the time to add ALL of the singles released by Don Omar, even the ones that DIDN'T chart, since I seem to notice a lot missing).

The other option would be updating each and every Don Omar album-related article by adding a new section "singles", and listing the singles released for each album. Of course, doing both things would be the best.

um... the best in the US? im not so sure... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.145.250.113 (talk) 02:31, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Parodies section

[edit]

If you search for parodies of, for example, George W. Bush or Sarah Palin you will find that section or page in Wikipedia. Why? Because they are public persons, that's why, so information regarding parodies, critics, or homages are welcomed inside this encyclopedia. It's even admitted for a fictionalized character as James Bond or Harry Potter. It's the same for Don Omar or Daddy Yankee, they are public persons. If the information has its own references and the links are valid, then it must be admitted.190.2.98.216 (talk) 05:59, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Genres

[edit]

Drollwor have you got any reliable sources for those genres that you added? Spiderone(Talk to Spider) 14:40, 14 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The reliable is of Allmusic about his versatilite.. Drollwor (talk) 14:44, 14 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

As per WP:MUSICRS, AllMusic is not reliable for adding genres. Please use a different source or don't add it at all. Spiderone(Talk to Spider) 14:46, 14 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits are not improvements to the article. The article already discusses Omar's career at length, including awards and sales. OhNoitsJamie Talk 18:14, 14 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
but The information is reliable and correct.. Rombler (talk) 18:17, 14 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I've added a brief summary from the awards section here per WP:LEDE. OhNoitsJamie Talk 18:18, 14 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

the information of Rolling Stone and Billboard, ¿can be added? Yes is reliable and correct.. Rombler (talk) 18:29, 14 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It's not encyclopedic in tone and style, in addition to not being grammatically correct. You've been given a final warning regarding those additions with an explanation of why they are not appropriate. You won't be warned again. OhNoitsJamie Talk 18:31, 14 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

¿What's not is correct? Yes is official and reliable acording to Billboard and Rolling Stone.. could be added in the article "Awards and Nominations" and add recognition the artist.. Rombler (talk) 18:35, 14 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Using adjectives like "legend" or "icon" common when talking about enterainment stars with long careers; it's not an award. OhNoitsJamie Talk 18:47, 14 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
