FOTOZP

[edit]

Vikingstad, this FOTOZP service sounds very useful. Where can I find it? Is it on the web somewhere? Hajor 00:07, 9 Mar 2004 (UTC)

Yeah, it's very useful, but unfortunately just a PSOE library (FOTOZP, as in Zapatero). You'll find it here. --Vikingstad 00:12, 9 Mar 2004 (UTC)

Oh, OK. I thought it was a repository of standard stock photos, not just PSOE. Thanks, anyway. Hajor 00:18, 9 Mar 2004 (UTC)

I don't think it's very appropriate that your picture of the demonstration in Barcelona shows the hammer-and-sickle banner of some fringe Communist group, and only a small number of people. If there were 1.5 million people in the P de Gracia, a more representative photo would be better. Adam 08:28, 13 Mar 2004 (UTC)

I didn't include POV comments in José María Aznar. Can anybody suplant me or use the same IP in an other computer? 80.58.36.42 08:26, 19 Mar 2004 (UTC)

Hard to say who did it then, but someone added "He requested the dissolution of the Cortes and new elections in January 2004, and announced he would not be seeking the prime minister's office again, fortunately for all Spaniards." the part in italic. Anyway, I suggest that you register an account here at Wikipedia, then you avoid being confused (or getting the blame) for being someone else. --Vikingstad 09:20, Mar 19, 2004 (UTC)

Thanks for your vote of support on Rfa -- it is much appreciated. Hajor 15:03, 25 Mar 2004 (UTC)

Copyrights

[edit]

I've raised an issue about the copyrights of your pages like Talk:Gunning Bedford, Jr. on the Wikipedia:Village Pump. I'm not sure that licence is acceptable, since it bars downstream commercial users, and is thus incompataible with the GFDL. Bear in mind, I'm not a lawyer, but you should check out the Village Pump for information before continuing. Yours, Meelar 03:35, 28 Mar 2004 (UTC)

Ok, thanks. I will change the photos to something else then GFDL then. The text however is public domain, so that should be compatible... --Vikingstad 03:38, Mar 28, 2004 (UTC)

Sorry, it was an accident; don't know how I did it. I guess Arwel just fixed it. -- Viajero 14:22, 23 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

British

[edit]

Hi. The word British is quite confusing sometimes (the article on it is quite good). British does indeed mean someone from the island of Great Britain but it is also the adjective used to describe someone or something related the United Kingdom. In the context of nationality, British refers to the country and not the island. Dmn 23:28, 23 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Ignore that last comment, I wrote it before I read your second comment :-p Dmn 23:30, 23 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

EC President

[edit]

Thanks for your remarks on the EC Presidents and for improving the template by adding the years. Unfortunately, I don't think the pipe link bug will be fixed. Currently, the pipe is used as a separator of parameters, so it is not available to use within the square brackets. -- Emsworth 22:58, Jun 24, 2004 (UTC)

Well, only time will tell, but it would be very useful, and not very hard I think, as this would only affect pipes within [[]] links. Cheers. --Vikingstad 23:20, Jun 24, 2004 (UTC)

The business and economics forum

[edit]

Anouncing the introduction of The Business and Economics Forum. It is a "place" where those of us with an interest in the business and economics section of Wikipedia can "meet" and discuss issues. Please drop by: the more contributors, the greater its usefulness. If you know of other Wikipedians who might be interested, please send this to them.

Article Licensing

[edit]

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

Washington Post

[edit]

Boy, you're quick: I haven't had time to put anything in the Post talk page yet! I reverted because Wikipedia articles don't generally include writers' opinions. - DavidWBrooks 15:22, 1 Apr 2005 (UTC)

But I think that I may have been too hasty ... as I noted in the Talk page (I'm having database problems - I keep getting locked out of wikipedia), the article does need mention of the paper's liberal leanings. It was the tone of the comment that I reacted to, and the fact that it was labelled "opinion", as if it was your opinion. - DavidWBrooks 15:36, 1 Apr 2005 (UTC)

International airports category

I am going to CFD this, as it will get too big and unwieldly. Please stop adding airports to it. Burgundavia 09:28, Apr 6, 2005 (UTC)

FYI: I started a "political leanings" section for this article, as per our discussion above. Needs work ... of course! - DavidWBrooks 14:59, 30 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit]
An image or media file that you uploaded, Image:Norwaymap stavanger.png, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you.
[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Ingstad.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: TemplateName.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator.

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you have questions about copyright tagging of images, post on Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags or User talk:Carnildo/images. 06:44, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:PartidoPopular.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Image:LetiziaOrtiz.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:LetiziaOrtiz.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

 1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add Replaceable fair use disputed, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
 2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Oden 07:24, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading Image:Lumumba.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. |EPO| 09:22, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image source problem with Image:Bi logo.gif

[edit]
Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:Bi logo.gif. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the GFDL-self tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 17:09, 12 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner. Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Hurricane lamp, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Hurricane lamp is unquestionably copyright infringement, and no assertion of permission has been made.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Hurricane lamp, please affix the template hangon to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Proposed deletion of Design for logistics

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Design for logistics, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the dated prod notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Tejero golpe.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Tejero golpe.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 12:58, 28 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Marketing Agencies Association, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 08:43, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
