Rossumcapek - that's kewl, is it related to Karel Čapek and Rossum's Universal Robots? :-) --Lumidek 23:09, 12 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Yes, it is. Of course, now I have to create my user page. :) Rossumcapek 18:53, 5 Jul 2004 (UTC)

I'm looking for input on the situation with the YACHAD Germany articles. Please take a look at Talk:Yachad (Germany). --Smack 21:54, 30 Jul 2004 (UTC)

SEALORDS

[edit]

Hi, you created SEALORDS. The article is effectively an orphan. Whenever you get to it, please give it a home. Cheers, Jiang 22:26, 9 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Wow, it's grown. Thanks for beefing it up! As for linking, Google reveals page hits for SEALORD and SEALORDS on John Kerry and 1968#October. I'll see if there's a good place to put it in the Vietnam war article.--Rossumcapek 16:59, 10 Aug 2004 (UTC)

TV Naming conventions.

[edit]

At some point in the past you expressed an opinion on Wikipedia talk:Naming conventions (television). I have instigated a new poll on that page. I am hoping that this poll will properly allow all users who have an interest in the subject to express their views fairly before we come to a consensus. I have scrapped the poll that was previously in place on that page because I believe that it was part of an unfair procedure that was going against the majority view. I am appealing to all users who contribute to that page to approve my actions. I would appreciate it if you could take the time and trouble to read the page carefully and express an opinion and vote as you see fit. Mintguy (T) 16:47, 13 Sep 2004 (UTC)

I've noticed your vote on VfD and I'd like to tell you that linking to an anchor within an article usually isn't a good idea. Heading names can be changed, causing links like that to be broken. Mgm|(talk) 07:49, Oct 6, 2004 (UTC)

Article Licensing

[edit]

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

Image:Didgeridoo old vert.jpg has been listed for deletion

[edit]
An image you have uploaded, Image:Didgeridoo old vert.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you.

Naming conventions for television shows (again)

[edit]

I saw that you were active in the first vote for naming conventions of television program(mes). Well it has raised it's ugly head again and I would appreciate any comments you have to make about my new proposal for naming television shows. Please leave comments here. License tagging for Image:OTE-1st-cover.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:OTE-1st-cover.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 10:06, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

ISBN pronunciation

[edit]

Hey, there is a discussion going on about the pronunciation of ISBN that you may be interested int. I dug through the logs and found you originally added a note about "sometimes pronounced is-ben" here - nobody seems to have heard of this pronunciation, and I figured I'd let you know. hc5duke 2007-06-18 09:02 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:NaS-cover.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:NaS-cover.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Freedomeagle 07:49, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Spam in Dokeos

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Dokeos, by 71.245.63.110 (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Dokeos is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Dokeos, please affix the template hangon to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 19:22, 6 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Another editor has added the "prod" template to the article Mercedes (calculator), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the prod template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:OTE-1st-cover.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:OTE-1st-cover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 14:44, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Reynolds Guyer

[edit]

I have nominated Reynolds Guyer, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Reynolds Guyer. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Fixing vandalism

[edit]

Hi Rossumcapek, and thanks for all your edits. Might I offer a small suggestion? Sometimes when fixing vandalism, it's worthwhile giving the page history a quick check. For example, this vandal edit removed good content, which might have been lost indefinitely if no-one had noticed. Plus you can always use the WP:UNDO function if you use the page history.

All the best, and keep up the good work  :-) Adrian J. Hunter(talkcontribs) 00:30, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Rossumcapek! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 3 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the unreferencedBLP tag. Here is the list:

 1. Ronald L. Iman - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
 2. Toaripi Lauti - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Non-free rationale for File:Reve cover.jpeg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Reve cover.jpeg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 13:29, 17 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
